Custom software and data work for hospital operations
Alongside our products, we build software for hospital jobs that no product covers, move data between your systems, and run our products for you.
We keep this work close to what we know: supply chain, perioperative and finance operations in hospitals, and the systems they depend on.
What we take on
Three kinds of work. The best fit is software that sits beside your EMR and ERP and handles the jobs they leave to spreadsheets and email.
Custom software for hospital operations
A web application for one job that spreadsheets, shared inboxes and paper forms are doing badly today: a request and approval flow, a register that has to stay current, a queue that several teams work from.
We build on the same foundations as our own products: .NET, Angular and SQL Server, hosted on Amazon Web Services.
What we build in from the start
- Separate roles for your staff and for outside users such as vendor reps, who see only their own company’s records
- A history of who changed what, and when
- Rules kept as settings your administrators can change, not as code
- Reports and exports your team can run for themselves
Integration and data work
Moving data between your EMR, your ERP and the software that needs it, by file. We work from the exports your systems can produce on a schedule, deliver them by secure file transfer, map the fields and build the loads.
For a go-live or a clean-up, we load historical data and check it first, with a plain report of what will load, what will be skipped and why, before anything reaches the database.
Worth asking of any file exchange, ours included
- Does a re-sent file create duplicates, or is it recognized and ignored?
- Do files load in the order they were produced, even when one arrives late?
- Who is told when a load fails, and how quickly?
- What is the manual fallback when a file never arrives?
Hosting and support for Techinquest products
We host our products for you on Amazon Web Services, in a separate deployment for each customer, and keep them up to date. Custom software we build can be hosted and supported the same way.
Questions from your users go to support@tech-inquest.com.
What your IT and risk reviewers ask first about Rebate Recovery and Implant Control
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Access is by role, and users can be limited to specific hospitals, vendors or suppliers
- Your staff can sign in through your own identity provider
- Security documentation is available under a nondisclosure agreement
The size of job we mean
Our smaller tools each do one hospital back-office job. If yours looks like one of these, it is the right size for a conversation.
Vendor Compliance
Vaccination and document compliance for vendor representatives
Delivery Tracking
Internal courier requests, driver dispatch and package tracking between facilities
Product Approval
Physician sign-off for surgical product requests
Forms Library
One catalog for every hospital form, its print orders, artwork and translations
How an engagement starts
With the work as it is done today, not with a requirements document.
What to bring to the first conversation
- The spreadsheet, form or report in use today, with patient details removed
- A list of who touches it and what each person does with it
- Where its data comes from and where it goes next
- The last few things that went wrong, and what they cost in time
Even if you never call us, writing these four things down is most of a good scope for whoever builds it.
You describe the job
A few lines through the form or by email: what the job is, who does it today, what they use and what goes wrong. A rough description is enough.
We look at the work itself
In a working session with the people who do the job, we go through the spreadsheet, form or file exports they use today. Sample or de-identified data is fine; please send no patient information.
You get a written proposal
A plain scope: what we would build or connect, what data it needs, what it would leave out, a schedule and a price. You decide from there.
Tell us about the job
A few lines is enough to start. If one of our products already does it, we will say so.
